"Temples of the Lord" Now On Youtube

There is a new piece that I am writing that encapsulates the Glory of God separate from those who are unbelievers. It is a song that hints at the coming days of destruction on the earth. Everyone's plans will be altered and the Lord's will is to be done. That's what it says in the lyrics. "Till Every crime is punished; every deed is torn--Our bodies long to be the Temples of the Lord."
In the Bible, it says that every thing will be exposed at the appropriate time. That is why there are numerous gospel warnings all throughout the Old and New Testaments warning us to flee from the wrath to come. That means, doing your best to flee from lust, the pride of the eyes and the pride of life. Recently, I've been struggling with it, but at the same time, I've started to realize how vain money and all the so-called treasures of this world are. Be not of the world, for the Kingdom of God is near. Where your treasure (and your eyes are), there your heart will be also. Money is the root of all kinds of evil. It makes us so impatient--too impatient to realize how much we need the Lord to provide us our needs. Asking the Lord for a bit of money to get through is okay through prayer, but let it not proceed to greed.
We are in an all-out warfare with the world and the powers that be. This song "Temples of the Lord" is all about this as well as praising the Lord for all He has done for us.

This song really is meant to be a call and plea for repentance to save us all from God's wrath. All the weird stereotypes that people give us are worth what is on the hearts of God's people.

My newest song demo "Temples of the Lord" is now on Youtube. I feel it is with strong conviction that I write this song, for we struggle day in and day out to be like Christ--a battle which I still wage to this day. Here the song is with alternate lyrics! Enjoy and comment!

Dweller's Undying Love" Out On Youtube and Sheet Music Plus

Here's one of the pieces that I wrote for a student film entitled "Before It Happens" about a man who was trying to get in touch with a girl he had a crush on. The piece features different scenes that he goes through on his journey. If any of you chamber or rock groups want to play this, it is for synthesizer, piano, acoustic and electric guitar, and drums.
Back in 2009, I was asked to write some music for a student film by a small, startup company called Can-do Films. It was the first time I'd ever been asked to write for film. At times, it was a daunting experience, but I really enjoyed it and learned a lot.

Here is the "About This Piece" bit from Sheet Music Plus:

This piece is a small selection of movements from a film I composed for a student film entitled ""Before It Happens."" It features flicks of pieces from each scene in the film. It goes from the very romantic C major opening with rhythms that vary in complexity (half and quarter notes to fast moving eighth notes) to the inspirational rock n roll final section in the key of G major. It also features wide dynamic contrasts and gradual fade outs as each section ends. It is a great piece for a fledgling band starting out and is perfect for performing for presentations. It prints out on 8 1/2 by 11 sized paper. It is about 2 minutes in length. If you're looking for a quick medley, this is the one for you!

Enjoy this quick Youtube video of the piece to get a taste of what it sounds like:

The piece is available for sale here.

Enjoy!

New Single "It Ain't Paradise" Out on Itunes!

Hello all!

I am pleased to announce that my new single from the upcoming CD entitled "Over" called "It Ain't Paradise," is now live on iTunes for your listening pleasure. It's a deep rock song that is reminiscence of the sounds and textures of Coldplay, paired with a little more than a slice of The Eagles' rock grooves. It's a song that simply says, "This life may not be the best, but I've got your love and it's alright with me."

Below is sampling if you want to hear it:

Here are the lyrics to follow along with:

You make it
So easy to see,
Where ever I go,
You're always right before me, yeah.
You make it
Just so warm, so right,
Just a little bit of your love,
Can bring day from night.
Where we're living,
It ain't paradise
But it's all right.
It ain't paradise
But it's all right with me.
It's just
So hard to exist
Without you I feel as I've been
knocked from the list.
I just have
So many problems to solve,
But we will get through it,
I promise I can do it,
I just need a little more from you.
We're living,
It aint paradise, but it's alright
It ain't paradise but it's alright with me.
I don't know
Where I can go,
I feel so directionless,
But with you I have a home,
And I see success, baby, let's go.

"Fire In My Soul" Lead Sheet Now Available on Sheet Music Plus

Hey! Is anyone out there?

Hi, it's Cody Weinmann, composer, here again with another post...

What seems to be the long-awaited lead sheet sheet music to one of my best songs called "Fire In My Soul" is finally live on Sheet Music Plus for all of you to download and listen to if you feel so inclined. There are two versions of the piece, one in E-flat minor and one in E-minor. You can choose whichever version is the best suits your singing style and voice. They are both available for download. Just be sure and click the 'Sheet Music Plus' link that will lead you to a search for it. You'll also be able to find both versions here and here.

Here is a little blurb about the piece:

"Fire In My Soul"--one song about longing and passion that shall never be forgotten. It is sung in choral or operatic style, guaranteed to warrant many performances that will bring audiences to tears. It is a good piece for intermediate singers in that it has alternating eighth note and sixteenth note rhythms in the vocals. This makes it a pleasant challenge to sing. It is only the chords and vocal part transposed in E-flat minor for one and E minor for the other.
Here on Youtube is the original version of the song:
Here, also on Youtube, is another version of the song (In E Minor):

Hopefully, this song will be of great inspiration to you all! Up and coming is the actual sheet music for piano/guitar chords and vocals in both keys.
Until next time,

Happy Easter!
